These cyanotype portraits gather subjects across generations, many of them family, including ancestors known only through inherited photographs. What unites the series is the process rather than the treatment: some prints are woven back together from cut strips, others are worked over with illustration, illumination, or embroidery, added by hand once the print has dried. The largest pieces reach three feet square, assembled from a grid of nine 12×12 prints — a scale that makes the seams part of the portrait.
